(CAMPAIGN FOR COUNTY TREASURER): (4 Apr 1907, Thursday, Beckham County Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK): In this issue appears the announcement of W. A. Murphy, of Sayre, as a candidate for the office of County Treasurer. Mr. Murphy is a native of Mississippi, but in early life he immigrated to the state of Texas, and from there to Roger Mills county where he filed on a claim. A few years ago he sold his farm and moved to Sayre, where he open(ed) up a grocery store, he also established the Murphy gin, which is known all over the county. W. A. has lived in Oklahoma about 7 years, in which time he has by his fair dealings made thousands of friends.
