YARBROUGH SELLS HIS HOME J. A. Yarbrough sold his beautiful home on W. Broadway this week to Will Culp from down Elk Creek, who will move in time for school. Mr. Yarbrough will remain in Elk City and his son will finish school here. Then Mr. Yarbrough may move to some university town, that his son may be at home and go to a university. He assures us he will always return to Elk City and call it home. (17 Dec 1920, Elk City Press, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): J. A. YARBROUGH TURNS BUSINESS TO F. W. SNODDY J. A. Yarbrough, who for the past four years, has faithfully served the people of Commissioner's district No. 3, resigned his office at the last meeting, and Bascom Bates, the newly elected commissioner from this district, will succeed him. Mr. Yarbrough has sold his real estate and insurance business to ex-Court Clerk F. W. Snoddy, who is now actively succeeding Mr. Yarbrough. Mr. Snoddy will move his family from Sayre to Elk City to make their home about the first of the year. Mr. Yarbrough has sold most of his interests in Elk City and bought a home in Shawnee, Okla., where he will live for the next four years while his son completes a course in the Baptist college. While Mr. Yarbrough expects to be in Shawnee four years, he lays much stress on the fact that Elk City is his home, and he will certainly return after four years. --------------------------------------------------------- Return to Beckham County Archives: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ok/beckham/beckham.htm
