(5 Dec 1918, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): KILLED IN ACTION. Ed Duke of Port neighborhood was killed in action the 9th of October, but word of his death was not received until the 16th of November. He was with Co. B, 141st Inf., 36th Division. He was married October 11th, 1917 to Miss Euna Jarrell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Enoch Jarrell. A babe was born to Mr. and Mrs. Duke Sept. 15th, about the time the young man crossed the ocean going to France. Mrs. Duke went to the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. W.
