Lula Irvin was a Morgan. Her father was Clinton David Morgan, who was born in 1859 near Paducah, Kentucky, and died in 1926 in Stamford, Texas. Clint Morgan's brothers, WIlliam H. Morgan, and John B. Morgan, were early settlers of the Erick area. Cleon and Lula decided to see if there were any Morgans left in Erick, so they checked the phone book. They contacted Mrs. French (Mae) Morgan, and visited in her home. It was at Mae's home that they met Jewel Jarnagin, William H. Morgan's daughter and first cousin of Lula. After having a great time visiting, they spent the night with Jewel, and left the next day for Kentucky. Cleon and Lula hope to find more information in Kentucky on her grandparents, Daniel J. Morgan and Malinda Catherine Ransom Morgan. On their way back to California, they plan to go through Greenville and Wichita Falls, Texas, and Albuquerque, New Mexico, in search of more cousins.
