All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ Olivia Abercrombie ERICK, Okla. - Olivia Abercrombie, 91, a former Erick resident, died Wednesday, July 23, 1997, in Amarillo. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Erick First Baptist Church with Dr. Charles Graves officiating. Burial will be in Erick Cemetery by Fatheree-Albert Funeral Home. Mrs. Abercrombie was born in Mart, Texas, and moved to Greer County with her family when she was a baby. She married the Rev. Charlie Abercrombie in 1923 at Elk City. He died in 1995. Mrs. Abercrombie lived in Harmon County before moving to Wheeler, Texas, in 1955. She moved to Erick in 1970. She had been a resident of Amarillo for seven years, moving from Erick. She was a member of First Baptist Church and had been active in church work including teaching and playing the piano and working with youths. Survivors include two daughters, Glenda Staton of Amarillo and Dorla Graves of Oklahoma City; a son, Charles Abercrombie of Amarillo; two sisters, Phara Strawn of Cordell and Gertie "Jackie'' Saulsbury of Weatherford; 10 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Crown of Texas Hospice, 1000 S. Jefferson St., Amarillo, Texas.
