CARTER RESIDENT CALLED TO DEATH

Mrs.Martha Alice ABERNATHY Rites Today.

Funeral services for Mrs.Martha Alice Abernathy,76 years old,who died
Wednesday at the home of her daughter,Mrs.M.E.FALLIS,at Carter,were to be
held at 3 p.m.today at the Carter Baptist church with Rev.E.N. CAMPBELL
of Rocky and Rev.FRENCH of Canute officiating.Burial was to be in the
Carter cemetery.

Mrs ABERNATHY was born November 19,1854,in Stewart county,Tenn.She was
married February 10,1880,in Texas to M.F.ABERNATHY,whose death occured in
1906.

She had been a member of the Missionary Baptist church since 1881.

She is survived by eight children,one brother and one sister.

Children surving are:
Mrs.Bessie McDONALD,Mrs.M.E.FALLIS and Dean ABERNATHY ,all of
Carter;H.E. and C.E. ABERNATHY,both of Sayre; J.F.ABERNATHY, Clovis,N.M; 
T.R.ABERNATHY,Port,and Mrs.G.H. PRESCOTT,Oklahoma,City
The brother surviving is O H.CROSS of Clovis ,N.M.and the sister
Mrs.Della BURCH,Earlsboro,Ok.
