Mr. Alexander died at his home on Tuesday, October 12, 1971. Officiating for the service was Rev. C. R. Tucker. Mr. Alexander was born September 7, 1896, at Faulkner County, Arkansas, to Mr. Ed Alexander and Ottie B. Green Alexander. He came to Mayfield [Beckham Co., OK] with his family in 1911. In 1919 he was married to Helen Whitaker, who preceded him in death in 1924. He was married to Mary A. Davis at Erick on November 21, 1925. Following their marriage they made their home in the Mayfield community. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Baptist Church of Sweetwater. Survivors include his wife of the home; one daughter, Imogene Pickering, Mayfield; two sons, Raymond of Lawrence, Indiana, and Charles of Washington, Oklahoma; two sisters, Edna Flowers of Erick, and Elsie Kerr of Sweetwater; five brothers, Bob of Mayfield, Bill of Durango, Colorado, Homer of Bethany, Oklahoma, Forrest and Ray of Erick; eight grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Pall bearers were Edmond Logan, Elza Howell, E. R. Haag, Earl Hobbs, C. R. Wells, and Rufus Atwood. Burial was in the Buffalo Cemetery with the Fatheree-Albert Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
