   Maurice Alexander
   
   ELK  CITY  -  Maurice  Alexander,  83,  died  Friday, May 16, 2003, in
   Oklahoma City.
   
   Services  will  be  at  10 a.m. today in Elk City First Baptist Church
   with the Rev. Russell Duck officiating. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. in
   Llano  Cemetery  in  Amarillo,  Texas,  with the Rev. Steve Waterhouse
   officiating.  Arrangements are by People's Cooperative Funeral Home of
   Lone Wolf.
   
   Mr.  Alexander  was born June 5, 1919, in Gordonville, Texas. He moved
   to Elk City in 1994 after living in Amarillo for 52 years.
   
   Survivors  include  his  wife,  Laverne; a daughter, Sandra Merriam of
   Aurora,  Colo.;  two  sons,  Phil Alexander of Colleyville, Texas, and
   Cris  Alexander  of  Aurora; two stepchildren, Linda Newton of Clinton
   and Dennis Cowles of Baytown, Miss; four brothers; five grandchildren;
   and eight great-grandchildren.
