Allmon, prominent citizen of the Highway community northeast of Carter, died at his home Saturday afternoon, of pneumonia. Mr. Allmon had been in bad health for a long time, being a sufferer from neuritis. He made a trip to Mineral Wells, Texas, during the winter for his health, returning home some time ago. He was in a weakened condition when stricken with the attack of pneumonia. Mr. Allmon was one of the first settlers of the Highway community and has lived on his home place for the past 25 years, and was one of the more influential citizens of that community. Rev. Thomas of Elk City conducted the funeral services at the Highway school auditorium on Sunday afternoon, after which the remains were laid away in the Poarch cemetery, the Masonic Fraternity having charge of the burial service. Mr. Allmon leaves a wife and several children, all of the children being married. All were present at the funeral except his youngest daughter who resides in California. Card of Thanks. We wish to extend to our friends and neighbors our heartfelt thanks for their kindness during the illness and death of our husband and father. Mrs. J. M.
