BARTON, JAMES MATTHEW
(4 May 1917, The Carter Express, Carter, Beckham Co, OK):
DIED.  Mr. Matt Barton, a citizen of Carter, who resided in the
southeastern part of town, died on Thursday night of last week, after a
long illness.  He had been a sufferer of that dreaded disease,
tuberculosis for a long time and finally succumbed to the inevitable and
passes away as stated above.
Interment took place at the Carter cemetery Friday afternoon.
Deceased leaves a family of wife and several children, also had several
brothers, one of whom resided  at Elk City.
