MATHIS conducting the funeral services. Mrs.BENTLY had been in bad health for a long time, being afflicted with that terrible disease, tuberculosis, which gradually caused her condition to grow worse and worse until the summons came from the grim reaper, death. Mrs. BAILEY died of fever. She had been ill for some time and is said to have been real sick from the time that she was first taken ill. She leaves a husband and one child. Our sympathy is extended to the relatives of these deceased wives and mothers. 5 Oct 1917 The Carter Express We will state that the EXPRESS was in error last week in stating that Mrs. BENTLEY died of tuberculosis as she died as the result of a fall in which she broke one of her hips. Our attention was called to the error by Mr.Dude HENSON, so we gladly make a correction of same. 12 Oct 1917 Editor.
