(1 Jan 1920, Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, Roger Mills Co, OK): The people of the community northwest of Cheyenne were shocked upon last Monday morning to learn of the sudden death of their friend and neighbor, Mrs. N. I. Bowman. There was sickness in the Bowman home among the children but Mrs. Bowman was able to come to Cheyenne on Saturday. Sunday afternoon she became ill and before morning passed away. It seems that she was taken with the influenza which immediately developed into pneumonia and also affected her heart causing her sudden death. Mrs. Bowman was born in Commerce, Hunter County, Texas, on April 5, 1883 and was thirty-four years, eight months and twenty-four days of age at the time of her demise. She was married September 16, 1903, to N. I. Bowman. To this union were born five children who survive the mother. They are Bertha, age 16; Willie, age 14; Bessie, age 10; Charlie, age 8; and Lowrine (sic), age 5. To these motherless children and the father the sympathy of the entire community is extended. Funeral services were conducted at the grave by J. M. Wileman after which the remains were laid to rest in the Cheyenne cemetery.
