All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ********************************************************************* Ruth Madge Brewer Ruth Madge Brewer, 80, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2001. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. today in Westminster Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Jeff Conway, senior pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Brewer was born Aug. 11, 1921, in Carter, Okla., to William E. and Myrtle Jackson. She was raised in Carter and graduated from Carter High School. She married Johnie Brewer of Sayre, Okla., on Dec. 26, 1944. After World War II they moved to Dumas and then to Amarillo in 1952, where they raised their sons. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church for almost 50 years. During her working career she worked for several retail grocery businesses and Adams Plumbing. She was a volunteer and later an employee at Meals on Wheels where she received numerous honors for her service to her clients. She was a mentor to area schoolchildren. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and was adored by all who knew her. Survivors include her husband; two sons, J. Michael Brewer and family of Prairie Village, Kan., and W. Mark Brewer and family of Amarillo; two brothers, T. Max Jackson of Elk City, Okla., and K. Adrian Jackson of Moore, Okla.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
