B. 1 Nov 1857 D. 27 Jan 1939 Carter Cemetery Beckham Co OK Funeral Services for George M. Briscoe of Carter, were held at 2 p. m. Sunday from the East Holi- ness church at Carter with Rev. Albert Trent of Hammon, Offi- ciating. Mr.. Briscoe succumbed Friday morning in an Elk City hospital. He expired after an eight-day illness at the age of 82 years. He had been a resident of Carter for the past four years. He was born on November 1, 1857 in Center Point, Ark., and ws married on Point, Ark., and was married on January 26, 1879 in Lime Stone He is survived by his wife, and eight children, Mrs. Ed Thomas of Ojai, Calif., Mrs. Laura Jeter of Seymour, Tex., Jim Briscoe of Fair Oaks, Calif., Willis Briscoe of Carter, Alvin Briscoe of Mc- Lean, Tex., Guy Briscoe of Los An- geles, and Carl Briscoe of Los Angeles, and Charles, and two brothers, Joseph Briscoe of Fred- erick and Henry Briscoe of Grandfield. Interment was made at the Car- ter cemetery by the Moore Fun- eral home. Sayre Headlight 2 Feb 1939 Funeral services for George M. Briscoe, 82-year-old Carter resi- dend, were conducted Sunday ar- ternoon at the Carter East Holi- ness church with Rev. Albert Trent, Hammon, officiating. Briscoe died Friday in an Elk City hospital after an eight-day illness. Surviving are his widow and eight children, Mrs. Laura Jeter, Seymour, Tex.; Mrs. Edd Thomas, Ojaic, Calif.; Willis Broscoe, Car- ter, Jim Briscoe, McLean, Tex.; and Carl and Guy Briscoe, both of Los Angeles.
