B. 02 Jan 1852 D. 30 Dec 1944 Fairlawn Cemetery Beckham Co., OK H/O Mourning Louisa[Courtney] Erastus R. Britton, 92, retired farmer of 1129 North Washington street, Elk City, died Saturday, De- cember 30, 1944 after a lingering ill- ness. He was bourn January 2, 1852 in Tennessee and married Mourning L. Courtney at Knoxville, Tennessee in 1874, removing to Roger Mills county in 1892 in which area the couple have lived since. He was a member of the First Baptist church. Surviving beside the widow at the home address are two sons, Valley Britton, Frederick, Oklahoma and Ike Britton, Vega, Texas and a daughter Mrs. Maude Robb, Casp- er, Wyoming. Seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive. A daughter preceded him in death Time of funeral services are pen- ding awaiting word from relatives but services will be held from the First Baptist church here, Rever- end Horace L. Janes officiating, with interment in Fairlawn ceme- tery, Savage Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Newspaper Unknown
