Burnett was born February 10, 1968 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Janice Alice and Pled Burnett, Jr. He passed away June 14, 2010 at Sweetwater, Oklahoma at the age of 42 years, 4 months and 4 days. Buford grew up in Elk City where he graduated from High School in 1986. After graduation he graduated from Gordon Cooper Technology Center as a diseasel mechanic. He later began a 21 years career in the oilfield and was currently a nitrogen truck driver for Great White Pressure Control. He was married to Darla Jean (Mabra) Howerton at Elk City, Oklahoma on April 25, 2007 and they continued to make Elk City their home. Buford loved to ride his chopper and go to the cabin in Red River spending time with his family. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, Elk City, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his father and 1 brother, Paul Burnett. He is survived by his wife, Darla, twin daughters, Cynthia and Shelbi, 2 sons, Donnie Jones and Dallas Howerton, all of Elk City, Oklahoma; his mother Janice Burnett, Elk City, Oklahoma; 1 sister, Paulett Burnett, Yukon, Oklahoma; and a host of other relatives and friends. Services were held Saturday, June 19, 2010 at the Whinery-Savage Chapel officiated by Rev. Joe Garkovich. Burial followed at Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Whinery-Savage Funeral Service.
