Burial was in the Dewey Cemetery, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of the Martin Funeral Home of Elk City. Matthew Rector Candy was born August 26, 1984 to Robert Rector Candy and Dena Charmayne Page in Elk City and died Friday, June 15, 2007 in a car accident in Roger Mills County at the age of 22. He lived most of his life in the Hammon area and attended Hammon Schools. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps and was stationed in Iraq for approximately 8 months. In 2002 he left the Marine Corps under a medical discharge and returned home. Survivors include his mother, Dena McCowen and husband, Michael of Ft. Worth, Texas; his father, Rector Candy and wife Rachel of Hammon; his grandparents, Curtis and Pat Page of Hammon; his great grandmother, Nena Oldsham of Wellington, Texas;p two sisters, Traci Candy of Hammon and Page Ragan of Ft. Worth, Texas; and three brothers, Trevor Ragan of Hollis, Colin Candy of Hammon and Wyatt Candy of Hammon and a host of family and friends.
