Graveside services will be Tuesday, June 27, at 11:30 a.m. with Boyd WHITEHEAD officiating. Burial will be in the Lone Oak Cemetery. Alta, the daughter of Henry and Lillian ENSMINGER, was born October 27, 1920, in Humbolt, Kans. She moved with her parents to Ellis County. She married Louis Sam CARNES, Novermber (sic) 9, 1938, at Fargo, Okla. After they were married they lived in California and Kansas before moving to the Merritt community in 1954. She was a member of the Baptist Church in Merritt. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. She is survived by her husband, Louis, of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lucile and Henry POTTER, Duncan, Okla., and Janie and Danny CARNES of Elk City; four sons and daughters-in-law, Sam and Gwen CARNES, Carter, Albert and Karen CARNES of Norman, Jack and Kay CARNES of Elk City, Jerry CARNES of Hutchenson, Kansas: 15 grand-children and four great grand-children; two sisters, Mary CARPENTER, Springfield, Mo., Nellie CLARK, Iola, Kans.
