  Funeral services for W. J. 
Cossey were held at the Baptist
church Sunday afternoon, con-
ducted by the pastor, Rev. Nix
Campbell, an old-time friend of
the deceased.  Mr. Cossey was
born November 10, 1848, and had
lived here about 20 years.  His
death occurred Saturday after a
long period of suffering.
  He is survived by his aged
wife, a daughter having died
several years ago.
