S/O Lawrence Tech.5 G John L.BEESON, lateral gunner in the anti-aircraft with the U.S.Army stationed in Germany was killed in action in Luxemburg January 4,1944,according to a communication from the war department received by his parents Mr.and Mrs. Lawrence BEESON of Indiahoma and formerly of Willow. BEESON 22, entered the service of his country in January 1943 and trained at Camp Haan, California.He had been overseas eight months serving in the third army under General PATTON and was recently transfered to the 10th Infantry as third army front replacement. He attended the Ocina and Indiahoma schools. A brother, S-Sgt Ennis M. BEESON commando in the fifth army in Raly was awarded the purple Heart for wounds received in action in Italy October 13,1944. He is a school buddy of Pvt. Robert HARMAN, who fought for three days in the rain and mud without shoes and who received recognition in the United Press recently. His wife, Mrs.Louise BEESON resides at Indiahoma. The brothers are grandson of Mr.and Mrs. J.H. JOHNSON, route 1, Willow and nephews of Mr. and Mrs.J.W. BEESON of Delhi, Mr.and Mrs.Roscoe NORRIS and Mr.and Mrs.Lonzo HENDERSON both of Willow. The body of T-5 John L.BEESON will arrive in Sayre Tuesday afternoon,it was announced here today. BEESON was born August 24,1922 at Willow and lost his life on January 4,1945 in the Battle of the Bulge,Northern,Luxenburg.He enlisted in the Army January 7,1943 at Fort Sill and was a truck driver for an anti-air craft group at the time of his death. He attended the Ocina and Indianhoma schools and worked as a farmer some time near Sayre before the war.He was a member of the Assembly of God church. Survivors include his parents,Mr.and Mrs.Lawrence BEESON,Sayre,route three;three brothers, Enice of Indianhoma,Lynn of Roswell, New Mexico and Joel of Sayre,route three.He was preceded in death by one sister, Helen Jo. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, September 5 at the Ocenia school auditorium. Burial will be in the Carter cemetery. The Sayre American Legion will be in charge of the graveside ceremonies at the grave, Scroggins Funeral Home in charge of arrangments.
