(8 Nov 1918, The Carter Express, Carter, Beckham Co, OK):
Ed Goodwin Dies of Pneumonia.
The fatal malady, pneumonia, has claimed in death another citizen of the
Carter community.  Ed Goodwin, an influential farmer residing out
southeast of town, died about four o'clock Monday afternoon.  The
pneumonia that caused his death was induced by an attack of Spanish
influenza.
Mr. Goodwin was apparently a strong healthy man before being struck down
by the terrible malady that is sweeping through our country.
Interment was made at the Carter cemetery the following day.  We join the
many friends in sympathy with the bereaved relatives.
