Mrs. C. W. Halmark (sic) died Friday, after only a few days of very serious illness. She had suffered with Brights Disease for some time but was not thought to be seriously ill until a few days before she died. Mr. Hallmark, who was working at the carpenter trade at Sentinel, was phoned for but did not arrive until she was dead. After appropriate funeral service her remains were laid to rest in the Wash Cemetery (now Carter) Saturday afternoon. She leaves five little children, a sister who was with her at the time of her death and a husband who mourn the loss of a sister, mother and wife. The sympathies of the town and surrounding country go out to them in their sad loss. (28 Jun 1912, The Carter Express, Carter, Beckham Co, OK): Card of Thanks We certainly appreciate the kindness shown us during the sickness and death of our loved one, Mrs. C. W. Hallmark, and fail to find words which will express the gratitude of our hearts. These good Christian deeds will never be forgotten by us and our blessed Christ will never pass such devotion to the sick and distressed by unnoticed. May God attend you in every hour of need is our prayer. Mrs. E. R. Jennings, Mrs. G. F. Henson. ---------------------------------------------------------- Return to Beckham County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/beckham/beckham.htm
