(14 Jan 1927, The Carter Express, Carter, Beckham Co, OK:)
Mrs. Bert Kesler Dies.
Mrs. Maybian Kesler, wife of Mr. Bert Kesler, formerly of Carter, and
daughter of Mr. B. B. VanVacter of Carter, died at an Oklahoma City
hospital on Wednesday, Jan. 12, of inflammation of the brain.  Mrs. Kesler
was carried to the hospital there soon after she was taken ill, and was
given the very best treatment and care that it was possible, but her loved
ones were told by the doctors and nurses that there was no hopes for her
recovery.  Her old friend, Miss Pagel, formerly a nurse at Elk City, was
sent for and nursed her during her illness.
The remains were carried to Bowie, Texas, and buried by the side of her
mother.
Besides her husband, her father, Mr. VanVacter, and all of her brothers
and sisters, except her youngest sister, accompanied the remains to Bowie.
Their many Carter friends deeply sympathize with her relatives in the loss
of a loving wife, daughter and sister.
