MURPHY, GEORGE W.
(11 May 1917, The Carter Express, Carter, Beckham Co, OK):
DIED.  Dr. Murphy, who moved back into Carter about a week ago from
Retrop, died Monday afternoon of complication of diseases brought on by a
severe attack of lagrippe sometime last winter.  The doctor had been in
very feeble health ever since the attack of lagrippe so he sold out his
practice at Retrop to Dr. Jones and moved back to Carter where he owned
some residence property, but had only been here about a week when he
passed away.
Dr. Murphy had been a former resident of Carter, having made this town his
home when the town was first started and lived here for some time
afterward.  He leaves a wife to mourn his death.  The remains were carried
to Sentinel (Washita County) for interment.
