G. Renfro Died Suddenly Thursday. The Carter community lost one of its finest citizens last Thursday night when W. G. Renfro, better known to his friends as "Gip", succumbed to a heart attack in the pasture on his farm in the Kempton community northeast of Carter. Mr. Renfro had gone to the pasture to repair a fence and when he did not return as expected a search was made and his body found where he had fallen when his heart suddenly stopped. A pioneer of this section Mr. Renfro was well known and respected by all who knew him. He was a tireless worker, and interested in those things which make for a higher citizenship. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Carter Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. O. B. Powers, assisted by Rev. W. L. French and interment was made in the Carter cemetery. Left to mourn the loss of a wonderful husband and father are his wife, two sons, Orville of Carter and Lloyd of Haskell, Texas; three daughters, Mrs. Wesley Ford of Elk City, Mrs. Harvey Breeze of Carter and Mrs. Lloyd Gray of Roswell, New Mexico. These bereft ones have the kindly sympathy of all in their time of sorrow. HEART ATTACK FATAL TO CARTER FARMER. W. G. Renfro Is Found Dead In Pasture At Farm Home Near Carter Late Thursday. W. G. Renfro, pioneer Beckham county farmer, residing near Carter, was found in his pasture about 10:30 pm Thursday, after he failed to return home and members became alarmed and started a search for him. He had gone to the pasture early Thursday morning to make some needed repairs on a fence and did not return immediately. Mrs. Renfro did not become alarmed when her husband failed to return right away and decided he had probably ridden into Sayre with some neighbor to attend the farm sale. When he failed to return home by nightfall, members of the family became alarmed and started a search of the field. Officers who were called to investigate, stated that Mr. Renfro had died of a heart attack and no inquest was necessary. Mr. Renfro is one of the pioneer residents of the county, having filed on his present homestead nine miles southeast of Sayre. Funeral services are incomplete pending word from relatives but the services probably will be held in Carter under the direction of Hullum-Wells funeral home. Mr. Renfro is survived by his widow, two sons, Orville of Carter and Loyd of Haskell, Tex.; three daughters, Mrs. Wesley Ford of Elk City, Mrs. Harvey Breeze of Carter and Mrs. Lloyd Gray of Roswell, N.M. Renfro, pioneer Beckham county farmer who was found dead in his pasture late Thursday night, will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Carter Methodist church. Burial will be in the Carter cemetery by the Hullum-Wells funeral home. Mr. Renfro suffered an apparent heart attack after he had gone to the pasture to repair a fence and his body was not found until late Thursday night when members of his family became worried because he had not returned home and began a search for him. Mr. Renfro was one of the pioneer residents of the county, having filed on his present farm at the opening of the territory. He is survived by his widow, two sons, Orville of Carter and Loyd of Haskell, Tex.; three daughters, Mrs. Wesley Ford of Elk City, Mrs. Harvey Breeze of Carter and Mrs. Loyd (sic) Gray of Roswell, N. M. Funeral for Renfro Is Held at Carter. Funeral services for W. G. 'Gyp' Renfro, prominent Carter farmer, were held Sunday from the Carter First Methodist church with Rev. Powers officiating. Renfro was found dead in a pasture near his home early Thursday morning and was believed to have been the victim of a heart attack. He leaves his widow, two sons, Orville, Carter, and Lloyd, Haskell, Tex., and three daughters, Mrs. Wesley Ford, Elk City; Mrs. Harvey Breeze, Carter; and Mrs. Lloyd Gray, Roswell, N. M.
