RIDLEY, JOHN
(28 May 1915, The Carter Express, Carter, Beckham Co, OK):
GRANDPA RIDLEY DIES.
Grandpa Ridley passed away Friday morning after an illness of several
days.  He was only taken to his bed on Tuesday of the week before his
death, and soon after going to bed he became helpless, but is said that he
seemed to suffer very little pain, just passed away like a life that had
spent its course.
He was 74 years old, and the remains were laid to rest in Carter Cemetery
Saturday afternoon.  Bro. Waggoner conducting the funeral services.  A
large crowd of people were present at the cemetery to pay their last
respects to their aged friend.  (Civil War Veteran).
