SHAFFER, JOE
(25 Sep 1914, Carter Express, Carter, Beckham Co, OK):
Mr. Joe Shaffer, the aged gentleman, who was operated upon at Elk City
several weeks ago died Wednesday night in the office formerly occupied by
Hartzog & Allen on Main Street.
He, for the past several weeks was looked after by Richard Eggars and
Daddy Hurt.  At times he grew better and it was thot (sic) he might
recover but he did not.  He had no relatives near him to see after his
wants, but was well taken care of by friends.
