(2 Nov 1917, Carter Express, Carter, Beckham Co, OK):
Grandpa Street Dies.
Grandpa Street of the Retrop community, died at Clinton at the hospital
Tuesday night.  He had been in the hospital for some time and had
underwent an operation on a broken leg a few days ago.  It was reported
once that he had had his leg amputated but this was a mistake.  The
surgeons performed an operation on his leg in an endeavor to cause the
broken bones to knit back together but it seems that this was not a
success.
Mr. Street's leg was broken some time ago in an automobile accident and
the bones would not knit back together.
The remains were shipped back to Port for interment.  (Port Cemetery,
Washita County: T. D. Street; born 13 Jul 1837; died 30 Oct 1917).
