VAUGHAN, MAHALA
(8 Jul 1921, Carter Express, Carter, Beckham Co, OK):
Mrs. Mahala Vaughn (sic), better known here as Grandma Vaughan, died at
the home of her daughter, Mrs. S. B. Tabor, on July 1st.  She was 82
years, 6 months, and 24 days old.
Mrs. Vaughan had been sick for a long time, having been confined to her
bed the greater part of the time for about a year and a half, suffering
with that dreadful and painful disease, cancer, and suffering as none but
she herself ever knew.
Mrs. Vaughn (sic) was an old settler here having come here over twenty
years ago.  The remains were laid to rest in the Poarch cemetery Saturday
afternoon.
