VINEYARD, MARTHA
(29 Aug 1924, Carter Express, Carter, Beckham Co, OK):
Mrs. Martha Joan Vineyard, wife of Wm. Vineyard, died at the home of her
son, John Vineyard, northeast of Carter on Saturday, August 16, 1924.
The death of Mrs. Vineyard was not unexpected as her husband and children
had known for some time that all they could do for her was to make her
last days as pleasant as possible, and this they did with the kind
assistance of neighbors and friends.
Mrs. Vineyard had been a resident of this country for a long time having
first moved here over twenty years ago.  She had lived a long and useful
life, and leaves a devoted family and a host of friends who deeply
sympathize with them in their hour of sorrow.
The remains were laid to rest in the Retrop cemetery (Washita County) on
Sunday following her death.
CARD OF THANKS
We wish to express our sincere thanks to our friends and neighbors for
their kind assistance in helping to care for our dear wife and mother
during her long illness, and for the assistance rendered and kind words of
sympathy upon her death.  The many acts of kindness and the true
affections that were shown will be long remembered by us.
