(11 Sep 1913, Beckham County Advocate, Carter, Beckham Co, OK): Mrs. J. A. Waldrop died at her home five miles southeast of Carter Thursday morning of consumption from which disease she had been ill for many months. Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon at Poarch cemetery, where the remains were lowered to their last resting place. She leaves a husband and four children to mourn her departure besides a host of friends and neighbors. (19 Sep 1913, Carter Express, Carter, Beckham Co, OK): Died - After a lingering illness of four years with Consumption, the spirit of Mrs. Jim Waldrop took its flight, last Thursday morning, to that home not made with hands. Funeral services were conducted at the cemetery, by Eld. J. H. Waggoner of Elk City, Thursday afternoon at four o'clock. Mrs. Waldrop was a good woman, universally loved by those who knew her. She leaves a sorrowing husband, two small children and many relatives who mourn her untimely demise, in and near Carter.
