WELLBORN, GEORGE W.
(Feb 1925, Carter Express, Carter, Beckham Co, OK):
Mr. G. W. Wellborn, of Carter, died at Elk City at the hospital on Tuesday
morning of this week.  Mr. Wellborn had been carried to the hospital only
the day before his death in the hopes that something could be done to
relieve him but his condition was so grave that he just continued growing
worse until early Tuesday morning when he passed away.
Grandpa Wellborn, as he was known in Carter, had been in very bad health
for a number of years and also had the sad misfortunate of losing his eye
sight some two or three years ago.
He leaves a wife, one single daughter, Miss Nancie, and several married
children, Mrs. J. A. Breeze of Carter, being one of his daughters.
The remains were brought back here for interment in the Carter cemetery on
Friday evening.  A number of the children and other relatives being here
from a distance to attend the funeral.
