The youth had been making his home at Sweetwater before his death. He originally came from New Liberty, his birthplace. Survivors are: His father, S. L. DAVIS, Sweetwater; four sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Ruby ORTEG, Sweetwater, Mr. and Mrs. A. I. RILEY, Sayre; Mr. and Mrs. I. R. BURCH, Sayre; Miss Nadine DAVIS, San Diego, California; Taylor DAVIS, Merced, Californio and Grady DAVIS, Broad View, New Mexico. His mother and a brother, Fred Glenn DAVIS, are deceased. Date for funeral has not been set, but it will be held at Lone Oak church with Rev. LANDTROOP conducting services and Littrell-Moore funeral directors in charge. ____________________________________________ Sayre Newspaper August 3, 1933 JOHN DAVID DAVIS John D. DAVIS, son of G. L. and Julia DAVIS was born September 1, 1915 at New Liberty and died July 12, 1933. Mr. DAVIS leaves to mourn his death his father G. L. DAVIS, 2 brothers, O. T. DAVIS and wife and G. A. DAVIS of Merced, California 4 sisters Mrs. A. J. RILEY and Mrs. I. R. BURCH of Sayre, Mrs. L. W. ORTEG of Sweetwater and Miss Nadine DAVIS of San Diego, California all were present except Nadine who had just returned to San Diego from a 3 weeks vacation with home folks. His mother preceded him in death 11 years ago and a brother, Fred age 11, 3 years ago. We shall miss his sunny disposition. We shall miss his Willingness to help in times of need and about all. We shall miss his tender and sincere fellowship. We are sad and lonely, someday we will understand. Our sympathy is extended to his grief stricken family. Funeral services were held on july 15 at 4:30 at Loanoak(sic) Baptist church with Rev. E. R. LANDTROOP officiating. Interment at Lone Oak cemetery with Littrell-Moore in charge.
