Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Carter Church of Christ with J.V.McELroy officiating.Interment will be in the Carter Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel of Sayre. She was born November 17,1920 at Delhi,Oklahoma.She moved with her parents to Carter in 1927. On August 11,1941 she married Ben DAY and they moved tp Pampa,Texas before moving back to Carter in 1959 to make their home. She is survived by her husband Ben of the home,two daughters,Benni WATERS and Kay LOVE,both of Weatherford,Oklahoma ,one sister,Juanita SULLINS of Dumas,Texas,and five grandchildren, Sylia WATERS,Bret LANKFORD,Jennifer LANKFORD,Lyle LOVE,Jr.,and Christy LOVE. ******************************************************************************* ******************************** *Notes* Ben DAY b.1884 d.20 Dec 1926 buried Carter Cemetery *Carter ,Beckham Co.,Ok., S/O J.N. & Lela DAY ************************************************************************* Ben DAY ,a former citizen of this part of the county before moving to Elk City,died Monday about noon of this week,in Elk City. Ben,as everybody knew him here,happened to an accident about a week or so previous to his death,while working with some cattle.He fell in some way and injured his hip so badly that he was taken to a hospital.He was attacked with pneumonia before recovering from his injury,we are informed and resulting in his death as stated above. Mr.and Mrs. J.N.DAY,father and mother of the deceased,reside in Carter.They are grief stricken over the sad passing away of their son.Mr.DAY told the writer Sunday that he had heard from Ben that day and he was thought to be quite a bit better. Ben DAY formerly lived in this part of the county hence nearly everybody knew him.He was a very friendly and jovial disposition and had lots of friends everywhere that he was known. The burial took place at the Carter cemetery Tuesday afternoon. The Express extends to the heart broken wife and children,and the father and mother and other relatives,our sincere sympathy in the death of the one who was so close and dear to them. 24 Dec 1926 CARTER EXPRESS ******************************************************************************* ********************************* *Notes*John Norton DAY b.11 Feb 1915 d.10 Mar 1917 buried Carter Cemetery B-5 DEATH OF BABY *** John N.DAY,the baby son of Mr.and Mrs. B.N.DAY living on Third Street,died March 10,from bronchial pneumonia.In charge of ROBINSON & CHANDLER,undertakers,the body was taken Sunday to Carter for burial,where funeral services were conducted by Rev. SHELTON.Little John was two years and twenty-seven days old.The parents have the heart-felt sympathy of all.The home now seems emtpy The one they loved is still A link in the home chain is broken Which never can be filled.
