The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ *********************************************************************** Willa Frances Flue, 74, of Cheyenne was born March 25, 1912 in the Grimes Community of Roger Mills County and passed from this life Wednesday, July 2, 1986 in the Cheyenne Convalescent Home following a bried illness. At an early age she went with her parents Hubert William and Rebecca Irene Dodson to New Mexico returning to Sayre, Okla. to make their home. She graduated from Sayre High School in 1929, and later from Southwestern State Teacher's College. She taught school at Reydon, Seiling, Dill City, Hammon and other area schools. In June 1935 she was married to Lester Clinton Carter. He passed away in January 1968. On June 28, 1971 she and Lee Flue were married in Perryton, Texas. They made their home in Crawford until moving to Cheyenne in 1980. Mr Flue preceded her in death in November, 1980. Following her retirement from teaching in 1972 she remained active as a member of the United Methodist Church of Cheyenne; the Reydon Eastern Star; the Platonic Club; Roll Quilting Club; and the Retired School Teacher's Association. At the time of her death she was employed as a proof reader for the Cheyenne Star. In addition to her husbands, Mrs. Flue was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sons, Ralph and Pinky Carter and 2 grandsons, Rick Carter and James Goin. Survivors include: 4 daughters, Barbara Bidwell of Fort Smith, Arkansas; Sandra (Sue) Goin of Elk City; Jayne Gordon of Fredericksburg, VA; Wanda Diel of Clinton, 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandsons; 1 sister, Viana Jewell Peters of Foss, OK; 1 brother, G.H. (Bunk) Dodson of Sayre, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted Friday morning July 4, 1986 at 9:30 a.m. in the United Methodist Church of Cheyenne with Charles Horton and Aubrey Cowan officiating. Interment followed in the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Cheyenne. Pallbearers were Donovan Wesner, M.J. Owen, Randall Calvert, Floyd E. (Shorty) Harmon, Dan Sadler and Gene Estes.
