(27 May 1910, Friday, The Carter Express, Carter, Beckham Co, OK): Otis Donehue (sic) and sister, Mrs. Chas. Moore, are back from Bridgeport, Texas, where they witnessed the sad death of their father, Rev. J. J. Donehue, who died the first of the week with Pneumonia. Mr. Donehue filed on a claim joining the Carter townsite on the north many years ago, and was for many years a preacher of righteousness in this part of the state. He was well and favorably known here, being a member in good standing in the Presbyterian Church. His many friends condole with the bereft relatives, and point them to the Prince of Peace who drives away all tears. (3 Jun 1910, Sayre Headlight, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK): Mr. Odus Donahoo (sic) attended the bedside of his dying father and brought back his 3 little orphan children, who are housed by Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Jones, their grandparents. (Research: (www.usgenweb.com) Texas, Wise County, Chico Cemetery: James J. Donehoo, Rev. : 16 May 1854 - 11 May 1910; Mary E. Donehoo: 1867 - 1940.
