Funeral Services Were Held For Mr. Eli Who Died In An Amarillo Hospital A girls quartette sang Will The Circle Be Unbroken, In The Garden, and Abide With Me. Mrs. Herbert Peoples was the organist. Interment was in Memorial Park cemetery at Dalhart Texas. Mr. Ely , son of Mr. and Mrs. W.P. Ely of six miles northeast of Dalhart was born at Crowell Texas March 25 1913. He moved with his parents to Oklahoma in 1921, then to Dallam, County Texas early in 1941. He married Miss Florene Branson October 21 1933 in Sayre Oklahoma. They have one daughter, Launnua Jean, five. At the age of fourteen Mr. Ely became a member of the Methodist Church at New Liberty near Sayre. He remained an active church worker as long as his health would permit. He was in ill health three years before his death. Besides his parents, wife and daughter, survivors include four brothers Eunas of Sayre, Oklahoma, Paul of Cone, Texas, Otto of Dalhart ,Texas, and Eschol of Amarillo, Texas, One sister, Mrs. Claude Roper of Dalhart, several nieces and nephews.
