(13 Mar 1930, Thursday, Beckham County Democrat, Beckham Co, OK): John L. Evans, 63, residing on the Haddock farm on the south side of town where he has carried on a dairying and farming business for 6 years, died there early last Sunday morning after a short illness of heart disease, which malady was brought on by an injury sustained some ten days ago while he was cranking an automobile. Deceased was a consistent member of the First Methodist Church of this city and had made many friends since coming here all of whom will regret to hear of his untimely death. Survivors beside the wife, are: five sons and six daughters of the immediate family as well as his aged parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Evans, of Georgia and nine sisters and brothers. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock in the First Methodist church, conducted by Rev. J. C. Morris and Rev. G. F. Graham followed by interment in Erick cemetery under the direction of Fatheree Undertakers. CARD OF THANKS.
