OK W/O Alex W. Funeral services for Mrs. Cynthia Evins, charter member of the Sayre Baptist church and one of the first members of the Order of the Eastern Star, will be held at 3 p. m. Friday a the Sayre First Baptist church. Mrs. Evins died at 2:30 a. m. Tuesday in the Sayre hospital fol- lowing a long illness. She was born December 25, 1869 and came to Sayre from New Mexico territory in 1903. She is a pioneer resident of Beckham county and has been clerk of the Sayre Baptist church for many years and has been activity in missionary union work. Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Ruth Brown, Big Spring, Texas, and two brother of Vau- ghn, Arkansas. Her husband and two sons preceded her in death. For a number of years Mrs. Evins lived alone in her home here. The Rev. J. D. Foster of Nor- man and the Rev. J. T. Means of Sayre will officiate at the ser- vices. Burial will be in the Sayre- Doxey cemetery with the Scrog- gins Funeral home in charge of arrangements. 1 Dec 1949 - Sayre Sun
