Son W.R.(Gentry Co.MO)& Parilee Smith (TN). ************************************************************ Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m.Thursday at the high school auditorium at Carter for Maurice E.FALLIS,retired grocery merchant who passed away in a local hospital at 7:20 a.m. Wednesday.Mr.FALLIS was born in Montague county,Texas,December 18,1886 and had been ill for three years.He has been ill in a local hospital since October 8.cause of his death was cancer of the liver.He was married December 31,1913 at Sayre to Miss Lillie ABERNATHY HUNT who survives him.He came to Carter in 1900 where he resided until three years ago,when they moved to Clovis,N.M.He was a member of the Masonic lodge No.423 at Carter.Other than his wife,he is survived by Jack FALLIS,Clovis,N.M.Mrs.Shirley ORMOND,Dallas,Tex.;Mrs.Armyl BARRETT of Clovis,N.M.and five grandchildren.His sisters are Mrs.Lillie DAVIS,Carter;Mrs.Rose WEAVER,Sentinel;Mrs.Fannie STONE,Frederick;Mrs.Sybil HOYLE,Clovis,N.M.and Mrs.Letrice WEST,Dumas,Tex.,and two brothers are Andy FALLIS and Dick FALLIS,both of Carter. Rev.W.L.FRENCH will read the final rites assisted by the Masonic lodge of CarterMARTIN-HULLUM Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.Burial will be made at Carter.
