Died December the 12th, 1933, aged 47 years, 8 months, and four days. Was married to Miss Florence Mc- Dowell, June the 6th, 1915. To this union were born four children, name- ly: Rupert Ray, who preceded him in death; Mary Edna, Martha May, and Henry Cleve, who with their mother are left to mourn his death. He also leaves two brothers, char- lie and Posey Fikes, who reside in Tennessee, and one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Braswell, of Adolphus, Ken., beside a hose of other relatives and friends to mourn his death. He gave his heart to God and joined the Advent Christian Church at Lela hill, Texas, in August, 1931, and was ordained a Deacon in this church, in 1932. Brother Fikes was a true Christian and was loved by every one who knew him and will be sorely missed in his church, community, and his home, but we sorrow not, as others, who have no hope, for we cherish a sweet and blessed hope of meeting our brother again on the morning of the resurrection. Words of comfort were spoken by the writer, assisted by Brother Montgomery, of Mayfield, Okla. We laid him to rest in the May- field Cemetery, there to await the call of the great life-giver.
