All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************** FOLKS, CHARLES FRANCIS B. 14 Apr 1852 D. 18 Apr 1926 Ural Cemetery Beckham Co., OK Charles Francis Folks was born in Butler County Missouri, April 14, 1852, and died at the home of his son northeast of Elk City Sunday April 18, 1926, aged 74 years and 4 days. He was converted when eighteen years old and became a member of the Baptist church being a member of the Elk City Baptist church at the time of his death. When about twenty year old he was married to Miss Elizabeth Glass. To this union were born four children. Jodie, who died about five years ago; Mrs. Rosie Porter, who now lives in Roger Mills County, Oklahoma; Lil- lie, who died when young and John who lives northeast of Elk City. He and wife moved from Missouri to Texas and later to Oklahoma where he lived until his death, he and his wife making their home for the past year with their son. He was a most devoted husband a good father and grandfather, also a friend to all who knew him. Words cannot express how much his life meant to those who were near and dear to him. The many friends of this family extend sympathy to the sorrowing wife, the son and daughters and their families who mourn for their loved one. Funeral services were held at the family home Monday April 15, 1926, at 1 p. m. with Rev. Spurgeon Elliott officiating. A large number of rela- tives and friends attended. The daughter failed to arrive until after the services. Burial was made in the Ural cemetery. Elk City News 22 Apr 1926
