Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 12, 1988 at 2:00 p.m. from the First Baptist Church of Sweetwater, with Rev. C.R. Tucker officiating, assisted by Rev. Ross Anderson. Interment was in the Mulberry Cemetery, Sweetwater, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of the Fatheree-Albert Funeral Home. Mrs. Fowler was born June 18, 1893 in Hillsboro, Texas to James and Elizabeth Jennings. She moved with her family to the Oklahoma Territory in 1889. On December 9, 1917, she was married to Edward Levi Fowler in Sweetwater, Oklahoma. Following their marriage, they made their home in the Sweetwater community. She taught school several years ago at Skipout School. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sweetwater and a member of the Erick Eastern Star. In past years, she had been an active member of the Meridian Home Extension Club and the Red Cross. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and one daughter. Survivors include four daughters, Blanche Barrymore of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Lova Ringley of Bullard, Texas; Peggy Bryant of Kelton, Texas; and Patsy Gibson of Guymon; two sons, E.L. Fowler, Jr., of Sweetwater; and Jimmy L Fowler of Amarillo, Texas; two sisters, Ethel Rogers of Sayre, Oklahoma and Ollie Cantrell of Roswell, New Mexico; twenty four grandchildren and thirty seven great grandchildren.
