She passed away May 20, 2002 in the Loving Care Home, Allen, Texas at the age of 80 years 10 months and 16 days. When she was seventeen, she and Clarence went to Reverend Garln Wilson's home in the Merritt Community, for him to marry them on December 24, 1938. at the time Clarence was the foreman of I.C. Thurman's ranch in Sandstone Community. They raised cattle and farmed wheat until their retirement in 1980 when they moved into Elk City. During her younger years and several years after she was married, she attended the Presbyterian Church in the Merritt Community. In later years they became member of the Assembly of God Church in Erick before becoming members of the Elk City First Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, huband, one sister, Ada, and one brother, Everett. Services were held Friday, May 24, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at Whinery-Savage Chapel, officiated by Rev. T.D. Gifford of Elk City First Assembly of God Church. Burial was held at Fairlawn Cemetery, Elk City, Beckham County, Oklahoma under the direction of Whinery-Savage Funeral Service. Memorials may be made to the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Tulsa, Oklahoma in her memory. Survivors include one daughter, Faye Passmore of Plano, TX, her grandson, Michael Passmore of Sacramento, CA; her granddaughter and husband, Rebekah and David Junce of Indianapolis, IN; two great grandchildren, Thaddaeus Daniel Kunce and Noah James Kunce of Indianapolis, IN; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Oliver and Joe Daugherty of Cheyenne, OK, Robert and Eddie Daugherty of Amarillo, TX; sisters-in-law, Margie Snowden Fowler of Erick, OK, Smokey Moore Daugherty of Granite, OK; brother-in-law, Denton Thompson of Oklahoma City, OK; host of nephews and other relatives and friends.
