(3 Nov 1927, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham County, OK): David Adams quietly and peacefully went to dwell in his Heavenly home at the age of 97 years. Grandpa, as everyone lovingly called him, was loved by old and young alike. Three sons and three daughters are left to mourn the loss of a dear father. The family feel grateful to all who helped in any way to comfort in this sad hour. Rev. Carman spoke some comforting words to the relatives and friends. Grandpa often spoke of his Heavenly home, and was anxious and ready to go, and we know though it is hard to see him taken from our sight, it is well with him, and he is at rest, and will not suffer any more. Grandpa was tenderly laid to rest in beautiful West Fairlawn Cemetery. The family desire to express their gratitude to the physician who was so kind and every ready to relieve Grandpa of his suffering, also the friends and neighbors for the little acts of thoughtfulness to him. They appreciate Mrs. Perry for her comforting words, and for her help with the music that was so wonderfully sweet, especially it seemed with the rain coming down in torrents. -Written by One Who Loved Grandpa.
