All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ ADKINS, LILLIE ALICE (2 Feb 1928, Elk City newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Lillie Alice Adkins was born in Tennessee, Oct 23, 1887(sic), and died in Elk City February 1, 1928, at the age of 40 years, 8 months and 8 days. Funeral services were held at the Church of God February 2 at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Moad officiating. Interment in Fairlawn Cemetery, George R. Grubitz & Son in charge. LILLIE ALICE ADKINS. Mrs. Lillie Alice Adkins was born near Rogerville, Tennessee, October 23, 1886 (sic), and died in Elk City, Oklahoma, February 1, 1928, aged forty one years, three months and eight days. She moved with her parents to Oklahoma in 1906 and settled near Hammon, Okla. In 1902 she was united in marriage to Thomas Daugherty. To this union were born two daughters, Mrs. Mattie Homman of Elk City, and Mrs. Sue Lamb of Berlin. In 1909 she was united in marriage to W. T. Adkins. To this union was born ten children, seven of whom survive her, three having preceeded (sic) her to the better world. She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, nine children, three grandchildren, two brothers, Jessee and Taylor Green of Elk City, two sisters, Mrs. Mae Rennolds, Mrs. Iola Mayes, of Elk City, also her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Green of Elk City, and a host of friends who mourn her departure. Her last remains were laid to rest in the Fairlawn Cemetery to await the beautiful ressurection (sic) morn when she can clasp glad hands with those who have lived in respect to the recompense of the reward.
