J. A. ALBERTS Mrs. J. A. Alberts, known as "Aunt Jane" Alberts died at the home of her brother -in -law, J. M. Johnston, last Friday, after an illness of two years, most of the time being bed fast. While in this home she received every care from the members of the Johnston family, and though not a blood relative, no one could have had more love and attention shown them. Miss Felicia Johnston gave up her High school work, her music, etc., to devote herself to this beloved aunt. Funeral services were held at the Johnston home on Sunday afternoon. In the absence of the pastor of the family, Rev. Pankey, the services were conducted by Rev. Posey who read the 91st Psalm and commented on same, making a helpful and encouraging talk. Music was furnished by members of the First M. E. Church choir. Interment was made in Grandview cemetery. Mr. Robinson in charge. She was laid to rest by the side of two little nieces who were buried there several years ago, it being her wish to be laid by their side. Mrs. J. A. Alberts was born March 7th 1842, at Harmony, New York and lived in that state until 1867 at which time she was married E. Johnson (sic), brother of J. M. Johnston, and moved to Waverly, Iowa. From there they moved to Caneville, Mo., where her husband died in 1897. Later she married John Albert (sic) of Springfield, Pa., and moved to Elk City. He died in February 1919. Deceased was converted at an early age and united with the Baptist church. Death had no terrors for her, and her sweet child-like faith will ever be remembered by her friends.
