Dysart Esquire and Jane H. Griffin, and wife of E. D. Allen, was born April 5, 1832 in London, Derry, Ireland; was married Jan. 12, 1865 to Ethan D. Allen. Three children came to bless this happy union, Henrietta L. wife of John G. Wick, Lucy and John, who died in infancy. Mrs. Allen was converted forty years ago in the Presbyterian faith in the city of New Orleans, La. and has served her Blessed Master all her life since that time. Seventeen years ago she became a Seventh Day Adventist and has been a faithful member of that faith ever since. She passed away at the home of an adopted daughter, Mrs. John L. Fuller, at 3:30 p.m. March 12, 1910. She fell asleep in the arms of her Blessed Friend and Savior whom she loved and served all her life and has gone to her reward. Mrs. Allen had many friends that will miss her sweet smile and kind words. "Mother has gone to be ever in the mansions of the blest, where the wicked cease from troubling and the weary are at rest." Her husband who was in feeble health and is still so, was not with her at the time of her death but is far away from his family and among strangers which makes it the more sad. May the dear Lord comfort and keep him in this his hour of sorrow. Funeral service was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John L. Fuller at 9 a.m. Sunday March 13 conducted by Rev. B. G. Taylor pastor of the First Presbyterian church of Elk City Oklahoma. The scripture read was First Thess. 4:13 and 5:1-14. Elreno Papers please copy.
