C. ANDERSON DEAD. John Caswell Anderson passed away at his home on West First Street, Oct. 1st, 1920, after an illness of several years. While afflicted so long he used great will power and made a great battle trying to overcome the disease but despite all that could be done for him by friends, doctors and himself, it proved to be more than human help could do and he answered the summons to "come up higher." Deceased was born in Dade county, Georgia, Dec. 4, 1852, moving from there to Texas when a small boy, living there some thirty years. He was married to Permelia L. Dye, Dec 4, 1875. To this union was born three children: Columbus S. Anderson of Tulsa, Okla.; Mrs. Minnie Alice McConkey of Elk City, Willie Orena (deceased). He came to Elk City ten years ago and lived here until his death. For five years he was connected with the Hoover Realty Co. He was a kind and devoted husband and father, liked by all and held in highest respect by all who knew him. Funeral services were held at the Church of Christ last Saturday afternoon, Rev. Carman officiating. Interment was made at Fairlawn in charge of Mr. Robinson. The deepest sympathy of our people is extended to the bereaved wife and children.
