(11 Apr 1907, Thursday, Elk City Democrat, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Lawton, April 9. - Soon after the early morning west bound Frisco passenger train left Lawton this morning, Judge W. H. Anderson, of this city, who was bound for Altus with a party of lawyers to attend a political meeting, having exerted himself to reach the station in time to get aboard the train, expired in his seat of heart failure. The body was taken to Cache, and from there sent back here today at noon. He will be buried here tomorrow. Judge Anderson was one of the best known attorneys of Oklahoma. He came here from Washington during the second administration of President Cleveland and was receiver of the government land office at Enid. Prior to this time he had held a responsible position in the general land office at Washington. He was born in Kentucky 56 years ago and was a member of the first state senate of Kentucky after the adoption of the constitution. He recently announced his candidacy for the democratic nomination for district judge of this district. His son, W. A. Anderson, was for a number of years prominent in banking circles in Wichita, Kansas, and is now business manager of the Lawton Constitution.
